Marian Sarbu: Romanian labour market needs re-settling

Labour Minister Marian Sarbu yesterday stated the Romanian labour market needed re-settling by active measures, Agerpres informs.

‘I do not want the work of the Labour Ministry to be only made up of measures reactive to crisis developments. Labour measures need changing and re-settling, perhaps the National Employment Agency should be also re-structured. We need the single remuneration law applicable to the entire public system that has been in the making for several months now and that will definitely be followed by a single retirement law,’ Marian Sarbu stated during a conference discussing the prospects of the Romanian labour market. The payment of retirement benefits, of unemployment benefits or of other amounts in connection with other social welfare measures is not endangered, Sarbu added. In other developments, the weight of the maximum wage in the education sector coefficient in the draft single remuneration law that was negotiated by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour and trade unions on Thursday dropped by 0.02 per cent, says National education Federation (FNI) Spokesman Dragos Neacsu.
