Romanians can travel without visas to Bahamas, Mauritius and Seychelles

The Romanian citizens who want to travel to Mauritius, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis Federation, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas and Seychelles do no longer need short stay visas, a press release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) remitted to Agerpres informs. Starting at the end of May 2009, all the citizens of the European Union, who possess simple, diplomatic or special passport, can travel without a visa for a period of 90 days during 180 days as of the date of entry, the quoted source stresses. This is possible subject to the agreements regarding the short stay visa exemption between the European Community and the six states, agreements which allow the citizens of these countries to travel without an entry visa to one of the EU countries for the same period.

MAE recommends the citizens who want to travel to those states to conclude a medical, travel and life insurance for the whole period when they remain outside the borders of Romania.
