Two years after their concerts at Arenele Romane in Bucharest and at the Peninsula Festival in Targu Mures, Gogol Bordello returns to Romania today in order to promote their latest album, One Event informs. The event takes place at the Herastrau Summer Garden, starting at 19.00. The show will feature Taraf de Haidouks as opening act. The show performed by Gogol Bordello in Bucharest is part of the second half of the world tour promoting the band’s fabulous new album entitled “Super Taranta.” “Super Taranta will help us conquer the world!,” vocalist Eugene Hutz had declared last year. “Super Taranta” is the band’s fifth studio album, after “Voi-La Intruder,” (1999), “Multi Kontra Culti vs. Irony” (2002), “East Infection” (2005) and “Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike” (2005). Gogol Bordello was founded in 1999 by a group of Eastern European emigrants. The style of the band may be described as a wild gypsy two-step” mix that resembles Eastern European versions of ska, spiced up with punk, metal, rap, flamenco, cabaret, roots reggae, Italian spaghetti western twang, dub and other influences used by Gypsy artists worldwide.”
