Videanu admits the lump sum tax will not produce effects

Minister of economy Adriean Videanu declared that the Government makes an analysis of the effects of the lump sum tax six months after its introduction, Cotidianul daily informs. Videanu admits that there is no money for investments, but the situation could change after the loan from the European Commission comes. Moreover, he does not believe that the lump sum tax will have effects. The lump sum tax is criticized not only by the opposition or the economic circles, but also by the members of the Government, even by the party colleagues of the finance minister Gheorghe Pogea. Present on Monday evening at the talk-show “Ora de foc” from Realitatea TV, the minister of economy declared himself sceptical about the efficiency of this measure. “From my point of view, the lump sum tax will not have the predicted effects. It was a decision of the coalition, it was not set by Pogea. Six months after its introduction and we shall make a decision,” Videanu declared.
