Placebo returns to Bucharest on Sunday with new album

The British band Placebo returns to Romania to perform on June 21. The show will take place at the Romexpo exhibition centre in Bucharest. After the sold-out show in 2006, at Arenele Romane, when front man Brian Molko had left the stage and his 6,000 viewers with the promise “Thank you, Bucharest, we will come back soon!,” the British band returns with a brand new live show, the organizer of the concert, One Event informs. The concert in Bucharest is part of the promoting tour for the band’s latest album, as well as an occasion to introduce the new member of the band, Steve Forrest, who replaced drummer Steve Hewitt in 2006. “Battle For The Sun”, the band’s sixth studio album was released on June 9 and already tops the charts in Europe and US. The new release, the first since leaving Virgin/EMI and pacting with PIAS went instantly on no. 1 on Billboard’s European Top 100 Albums chart. The sound of the album is quite different to the previous one, much more optimistic, more positive, as vocalist Brian Molko had stated in a recent interview. “This new album features more hope, more optimism,” he said. Tickets cost RON 175 (in the A area) and RON 100 (in the B area). Tickets may be purchased online, on www.myticket.ro and at the Diverta network stores, at the Muzica store and at the Control, Fabrica and Fire clubs.
