Former General Chitac, released yesterday from prison

General in reserve Mihai Chitac (81 years), sentenced to 15 years of detention in the Revolution of 1989 file, left yesterday morning Jilava Prison Hospital to be hospitalized at Floreasca Emergency Hospital, where a medical team would decide when he would be subjected to the surgery interventions for which the court approved his release for one month. At the exit from prison, Chitac told the reporters that he was not afraid of the operation. The former General said that there were very good conditions at the prison hospital and he would be “psychically disturbed” should be hospitalized at Floreasca Hospital under guard. Asked about the small amount of time he has available for the operation, Chitac said he would observe the laws. After the operation, he will benefit from a recovery period until July 21. He was released without being put under guard, but the court decided to withdraw his passport.
