Russia willing to give EUR 500 M loan to R. of Moldova

Russia is willing to grant the Republic of Moldova a loan of EUR 500 M, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said yesterday after meeting with visiting Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, Mediafax reported, quoting AFP. Putin explained that in order to grant the loan, Russia will have to amend its budget and obtain Parliament’s approval. The first part of the money, amounting to EUR 150 M might reach Moldova in a month and a half or two, Putin said. Voronin is on a working visit to Russia. He was also scheduled to meet President Dmitry Medvedev yesterday.
