14 border police officers probed for mismanagement

Fourteen leading Border Police officers are under investigation, after internal checks found several instances of mismanagement, negligence and lack of organizational rigour in their activity, according to Mediafax. The General Border Police Inspectorate said yesterday that several checks were run with ten county border police offices in the last three months, at the order of the Border Police chief, Nelu Pop. “Following the checks, a series of management irregularities were identified in the work of some leading officers, along with major deficiencies in their activity to fight off illegal migration and trans-border crime,” the Border Police said in a press release. The police also issued warning for other eleven leading officers, for similar reasons.
