Civil society representatives call for Youth and Tourism Ministers to be dismissed

The Coalition for a Clean Government (CGC) and the Romanian Centre for European Policies (CRPE) calls for the urgent dismissal of some ministers in the Emil Boc Government, who are accused by the press of resuming the preferential distribution of state-paid advertising, a practice which had been sanctioned by the civil society and the European Union, in exchange for a favourable treatment by the mass-media. ‘The evidence published in the press about Monica Iacob Ridzi and Elena Udrea should have already led to their immediate dismissal. CGC calls for these practices to cease at once and for the two ministers involved to be dismissed. Also, we recommend that each minister publish on their webpage, without awaiting any appeal from the press, the sums and distribution of advertising paid by taxpayer money,’ a press release reads.
