Moldova doesn’t give up visas

Republic of Moldova President Vladimir Voronin told a press conference yesterday that Romania “sneaked” into NATO without having signed its border treaties with Moldova. Voronin added that he told outgoing NATO chief Jaap de Hoop Scheffer that he violated NATO rules when he allowed an ex Soviet country join the alliance without having all its border treaties signed. His comments came when he was asked to specify when Moldova might lift visas for Romanians. “We will not give up visas until the issue of visas in Europe for Moldovan citizens is solved,” he said.
