A genuine “Poetry and Jazz Marathon” was scheduled to take place in the foyer of the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta Theatre, starting in the evening of Friday, July 3, until the morning of Saturday, July 4. The event is organized by Euro Culturart, Open Art and the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta Theatre, in co-production with Radio Romania Cultural and TVR Cultural, supported by the Romanian Writers Union.
Presently at the first edition, the “Marathon” is, according to its initiator, writer Dan Mircea Cipariu, “the first multi-art event event in Romania destined to present the audience seven hours of Romanian contemporary poetry and important representatives of local jazz.
Throughout the event, 24 poets of different generations and literary movements will have 15 minutes of recitals each, in dialogue with refined jazz performers and composers such as Mircea Tiberian – piano, Maria Raducanu – vocals, Liviu Butoi – saxophone, Vlad Popescu – drums and Razvan Cojanu – contrabass. This event will also host the launch of the anthology “Poetry and Jazz Marathon,” released by the Tracus Arte Publishing House.
