Criminal file in the case of Millennium Business Center fire

Prosecutor’s Offices rules out the variant of arson.

Sources from the Prosecutor’s Office of Sector 2 Court, quoted by Mediafax, declared that a criminal investigation file is pending in this case with Sector 2 Police, but the case prosecutor Remus Ioan declared yesterday that “a criminal hand is out of question.” The file will be registered “most probably on Tuesday,” with the Prosecutor’s Office, where the investigations will continue. Remus Ioan also declared that the respective building was well secured and, according to the early verifications made by the fire fighters, the fire was launched by a lightning which hit a billboard hanging on the walls between the floors 14 and 18. “We have to identify to whom that billboard belonged in order to question the representatives of the firm and see if they observed the legal conditions. We shall also question other witnesses and take the images from the cameras within the building,” prosecutor Remus Ioan said.
