The journalist and theatre critic Magdalena Boiangiu, well known mostly for her articles published in Dilema Veche, passed away at the age of 70, the representatives of the Romanian Theatres’ Union (UNITER) declared for Mediafax.
According to the UNITER representatives, Magdalena Boiangiu died on Monday evening, after long suffering. Moreover, they mentioned that her body would be incinerated on Wednesday.
Magdalena Boiangiu was born in 1939 and graduated the Critics and Literary Theory Department of the University of Philology. She worked as a radio host of a theatre criticism show, and she also hosted cultural and social analysis shows. For a while, she was the literary secretary of the Bulandra Theatre. Since 1990, Magdalena Boiangiu started her career as a journalist and collaborated with newspapers and magazines such as Adevarul, Lumea, Teatrul Azi, Dilema Veche and Scena.
