EC to submit report on MCV, another one on management of EU funds for Romania

EC will submit an annual report regarding the Mechanism of Cooperation and Verification (MCV) for Romania and Bulgaria and a separate report regarding the management of the EU funds by the two states, as requested by the European Parliament in a recent resolution, stressing that the date of the presentation has not been decided.

According to EC spokesman, Mark Gray, quoted yesterday by Mediafax, the resolution of the European Parliament requests EC to prepare special reports regarding the management and control of the EU funds for both Romania and Bulgaria and the fight against corruption in the period prior to July 15.

“I can confirm that the EC will present both an annual report regarding the Mechanism of Cooperation and Verification, and, answering EP’s request, a report regarding the management of the EU funds,” Mark Gray said. Asked when these reports will be published, the spokesman said that they are going to be presented “when they are ready,” adding that the date has not been established. EC spokesman Mark Gray stressed subsequently that although the exact date of the publication of the reports is not known, they will be presented at different dates, not simultaneously.
