Timofte charge with using CSAT information in order to buy the house

The media published yesterday new details in the case of the former chief of the Romanian Intelligence Service, Radu Timofte, sent recently to court by DNA in a case in which he is charged with buying the dwelling below the market price, making use of his managing position at SRI. The edition of yesterday of “Adevarul” wrote that in 2005 Timofte learnt from the Supreme Defence Council (CSAT) that the security and defence institutions were selling the company dwellings to the employees, and thus he acquired for EUR 35,000 a luxury flat with six rooms on Mihai Eminescu Street, although the market price was EUR 200,000.
