COSR delegation visits London in view of 2012 Olympic Games

A delegation of the Romanian Olympic Sports Committee (COSR), led by its President Octavian Morariu, has paid a visit to London in view of Romania’s participation in the 2012 Olympic Games that will be hosted by the city.

The visit was paid at the invitation of Lord Moynihan, the President of the British Olympic Committee. During the visit the COSR delegation has visited the Olympic training centre in Tonbridge, located to the south of London, in order to identify a centre that would be proper for hosting and training the Romanian Olympic team that will take part in the Olympic Games in London.

Likewise, a bilateral Olympic partnership and cooperation accord was signed by the two national Olympic committees within the British Parliament. The accord provisions exchanges at the level of coaches, sports medicine, anti-doping and sport science.

The British side was represented by Lord Moynihan, the President of the British Olympic Committee, by secretary general Andrew Hunt and by Louisa Huddy, director of the Committee’s International Relations office. The Romanian side was represented by Octavian Morariu, the President of COSR, sports director Alexandru Epuran, Cristian Butariu, the director of the President’s cabinet, and Romanian Ambassador Dr. Ion Jinga.
