First transaction of the ‘First Home’ programme, BRD grants loan

The first home bought through the ‘First Home’ programme is a one-bedroom flat in an old building in the Bucharest Colentina district, Agerpres informs. Both members of the family work for Renault and have taken out a bank loan of EUR 55,000 to buy the property. The loan is granted by BRD Academiei branch Bucharest.

The apartment is comfort class I, in a building completed in 1986. The first contract of the ‘First Home’ programme was signed in a ceremony attended by PM Emil Boc, yesterday. The premier expressed his hope that lending would defrost and that the property market would be re-started by the ‘first Home’ programme. Boc hopes the programme will also help jump-start the engines of the economy. Public Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea, also present, stated thousands of applications had been filed within the ‘First Home’ programme.

Nearly 25 per cent of the loan applications through the ‘First Home’ programme will be for new properties, according to the initial estimations.
