The Cantacuzino Institute has confirmed a new case of infection with the AH1N1 virus. The infected person is a Croatian citizen who arrived here from the US on July 5. The number of AH1N1 infection cases in Romania has reached 49.
The 24 year old Croatian citizen has been transferred from Ploiesti to the ‘Matei Bals’ Institute in Bucharest, the Health Minister informed, being quoted by Mediafax.
The patient is in a good condition and is receiving the proper treatment. At the same time, the health authorities have started the epidemiological investigation in order to identify the people with which the Croatian citizen came in contact.
Another case of infection, the 48th, had been confirmed on Tuesday evening by the Cantacuzino Institute’s flu lab. The 48th case of infection was that of a 25 year old woman that is currently hospitalized within the Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Timisoara. She is in a good condition and is receiving anti-viral treatment. According to the authorities, the young woman returned from the US on July 1.
