The second edition of the World Music Festival will take place during July 24 – 26 at the Mamaia seaside resort, and will be organized by the Dynamic Art Association and by the Mayoralty of Constanta. According to the organizers, three prestigious bands from Europe and South America will perform in premiere at this festival. Varttina, one of the most appreciated Finnish world music bands, will start the festival with a music genre inspired from the northern folklore, flavoured with rock and pop. The second day will provide an explosion of energy and colour with Grammy Award nominee Columbian group LA-33. World Music Mamaia 2009 is due to end on Sunday, July 26, with a surprise: the Argentinean group Astillero, which will perform avant-garde tango in a performance featuring exciting video inserts. The second edition of the World Music Mamaia 2009 Festival will take place during the last weekend of July, in the Casino Square of the Mamaia seaside resort, starting at 21.00. The entrance to these shows will be free.
