Radu Mazare, officially notified of ANI checks into his wealth

The Mayor of Constanta, Radu Mazare, received yesterday an official notification sent by the National Integrity Agency (ANI) informing him that ANI notified itself and will initiate a procedure of checking Mazare’s wealth, Mediafax announced. Mazare replied that he was aware for ten days that ANI would start this investigation and that he can hardly wait for ANI representatives “to check whatever they want.”

He also added that he “had no fear whatsoever regarding the ANI investigation.”The Mayor of Constanta mentioned that the checking by ANI came after he made a few statements referring to the PSD Executive Committee, to Traian Basescu and he named the latter “Judas.”“I think through that the first person to be investigated by ANI is Basescu himself, and his daughters. Let us not forget his alleged fight against corruption and his posing as a hero on a white horse!” Mazare declared. On June 22, ANI announced that Radu Mazare omitted to submit his wealth statement in due time, and, therefore, he was looking forward to a fine and a wealth checking procedure.
