Iris band will resume its musical activity Saturday, by staging a show at Simleul Silvaniei, near Zalau, band members told a press conference Monday. “Thank you for supporting us during all this challenging time. We wish to resume our activity and we’ll do it starting Saturday, with a series of concerts throughout the country. Based on doctors’ recommendations about working time, we want to stage one event each week, and we wish to go to as many places we can, so that we can fill the gaps,” Iris manager Cosmin Nicoara explained. Referring to the concert planned for October, Nicoara said this will be “a big moment, grandiose for the Iris band.” “Initially, the first concert should have been in Targu Mures, on July 25, but we decided to start earlier. After Targu Mures, we’ll have another concert in Bacau on August 2nd,” the band manager pointed out. Attending the conference, Iris main vocal Cristian Minculescu voiced his joy over the fact that the press is talking with him, and not about him, at past tense. “I am glad that you talk with me, and not about me,” Minculescu said, adding that he will pass the “supreme test” on Wednesday, during the first rehearsal with the band, when he will see whether he can resist. “The way I feel now, I can tell you that there won’t be problems, but the recommendation is to have only one concert a week until March 2010. There will be no problems and you can realize that, at a certain moment, there should have been a first concert after these events. On Saturday there will be a rehearsal, given the Targu Mures concert, and then we’ll easily move toward October 8, when we’ll have a concert at the magnitude we got you used to for such a long time,” Cristian Minculescu told the journalists.
