The works “Lying nude” by Camil Ressu, and “Lucretia” by Gheorghe Petrascu will be put up for sale on Sunday by the auction house Goldart, at the estimated prices of RON 115,000 and, respectively, RON 140,000. In the catalogue, these two paintings are followed in the order of the estimative prices by works signed by artists like Alexandru Ciucurencu – “Portrait of Sonia Cluceru,” RON 50,000; Nicolae Tonitza – “The artist’s uncle” (Ion Saulea), RON 41,000; Ion Theodorescu Sion – “Reading,” RON 35,000; Ion Negulici – “Portrait of Nicolae Gheorghiu,” RON 26,500; Romul Ladea – “Nude carved in wood,” RON 23,000; Grigore Negosanu – “Balcic,” RON 13,500; Theodor Pallady – “Landscape in France,” RON 13,000.
Below the price of RON 10,000 we find paintings signed by Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpana – “In the village,” RON 8,200; Iosif Iser – “In the park,” RON 9.200; Lucian Grigorescu, “Houses in suburbs,” RON 9,300; Ion Musceleanu – “Landscape with houses,” RON 6,000; Leon Alexandru Biju – “Still life with quinces,” RON 5,300; Nicolae Petrescu Mogos – “Portraits – the forefathers,” RON 6,400; Misu Teisanu – “The deserted manor,” RON 6,500; Kimon Loghi – “Biarritz,” RON 7,400; Nicolae Enea – “In the yard,” RON 5,800.
The most expensive volume is “Italien – Eine Wandenburg Von Den Alpen Bis Zum Aetna” (1876), signed by Karl Stieler, and put for sale for RON 900. The works put up for auction will be exhibited on Friday and Saturday in Galateca hall of the University Library from Bucharest.
