Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Radu Berceanu, said last Friday that there was an option as after traffic is resumed on Timisoara surrounding ring, this is enlarged by two more lanes, Agerpres informed. “We finish the ring and after traffic is resumed, we two more lanes. First, to have this. We run on it, we measure traffic, not like this…” Berceanu said, who accompanied PM Emil Boc in a visit to the works of Timisoara municipal surrounding ring.
In early June, Berceanu said that the municipal surrounding ring would complete in November, after a delay of nearly four years. The works at the municipal surrounding ring, having a length of 12 km, are EUR 15 M worth.
Radu Berceanu warned Timisoara inhabitants to cease buying lands close the surrounding ring due to the wish to have the road near, because they will be unable to erect buildings here. On the other side, PM Emil Boc also gave an ultimatum last Friday to the completion of Timisoara surrounding ring works, asking those in charge that traffic becomes possible on December 1, 2009, on this segment detour for the municipal, according to Agerpres.
