Two Romanian military wounded in Afghanistan

Two military were wounded on Saturday night at the Romanian military base from Qalat, Afghanistan, in an attack of the insurgents, MoD informs, which also stresses that their condition is good. “The two were wounded last night, in the Romanian military base from Qalat, Afghanistan, further to an insurgent attack from several directions with missiles and portable infantry armament. Further to the attack, sergeant Florin Emil Cojocaru and corporal Gheorghita Paval suffered light wounds in the area of the face,” reads a MoD press release remitted yesterday to the media. The ministry stressed that the militaries were granted first aid at the military base and, yesterday morning, they were carried by helicopter to Kandahar for additional investigations and specialized treatment. According to the quoted source, the two wounded soldiers are part of Battalion 280 Maneuver which started its mission in Afghanistan in July. Presently, the Romanian Army has around 1,050 militaries dislocated in Afghanistan, who take action chiefly in the province of Zabol.
