George Becali, Traian Basescu and Emil Boc were the political personalities who received the widest coverage in the news programmes broadcast between June 8 and July 7 by the TV channels TVR 1, Antena 1, Antena 2, Antena 3, B1 TV, Pro TV, Realitatea TV and OTV, according to a CNA. The purpose of CNA’s action was to monitor the number and duration of the direct interventions of the representatives of the political parties in the news programmes, and to evidence their participation in the talk-shows. The ten political personalities who enjoyed the widest attention of the media in the news programmes were: George Becali (PNG-CD) – 202 interventions, Traian Basescu (President of Romania) – 105 appearances, Emil Boc (PDL) – 80, Ioan Bazac (PSD-PC) – 35, Mircea Geoana (PSD-PC) – 34, Radu Berceanu (PDL) – 33, Elena Udrea (PDL) – 19, Ecaterina Andronescu (PSD-PC) – 17, Crin Antonescu (PNL) – 17, and Marian Vanghelie (PSD-PC) – 16. On another hand, in the case of the talk-shows, Emil Boc dominated the top political personalities most covered by the media, with 19 presences. The classification is completed by Bogdan Olteanu (PNL) – 16 presences, Madalin Voicu (PSD-PC) – 16, Nicolae Banicioiu (PSD-PC) – 15, Alina Gorghiu (PNL) – 15, Hoara Marcel (PDL), Marius Necula (PDL), Codrin Stefanescu (PRM), Mircea Toader (PDL) and Sever Voinescu (PDL) with 12 presences each.
