Last Romanian soldiers return from Iraq

The last Romanian soldiers that took part in the ‘Iraqi Sunset’ mission were due to land on the Craiova International Airport on Thursday evening. A military ceremony will be organized on their arrival, the MoD informs. The aforementioned source informs that the 26th Infantry Battalion (‘Red Scorpions’) took part in the ‘Iraqi Sunset – 2009’ mission from February 20 to July 23. The Craiova-based battalion has thus completed the Romanian Army’s six-year mission in the Iraqi theater of operations. Romania’s mission in Iraq is scheduled to end on July 31.
