80 students got in contact with Brasov youths infected with virus AN1H1

At least 80 persons got in contact with the students from Brasov infected with AN1H1 flu virus, Realitatea TV informs.


Five of the patients are Romanian, the other coming from eight European states. The youth, aged between 20 and 25, and their teacher, are admitted in the Infectious Disease Hospital from Brasov. Their condition is stable, the medics say. Other 23 persons who got in contact with the diseased persons are in quarantine. Thus, the number of persons who got ill with the virus AN1H1 in Romania has risen to 95. 22 foreign students went a week ago to Brasov. They had to participate, along with 15 Romanian youth, to the summer courses of the University of Brasov, under the guidance of four teachers. A Turkish student was the first who showed the flu symptoms at the beginning of the week, but the virus spread quickly to the other young persons. The analyses confirmed the diagnosis of swine flu for 17 students and a teacher.
