President Traian Basescu has deco`rated Ihl Song Choi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, during a ceremony that took place within the Cotroceni Palace yesterday, offering him the Great Cross Degree of the National Order of Service at the end of his mission in Bucharest. According to Agerpres, the President thanked the ambassador on behalf of the Romanian state and the Romanian people for the way in which he fulfilled his mandate and for his contribution to the strengthening of bilateral ties. Also yesterday the Head of State received the farewell visits of Ahmed Majdalani, the Ambassador of the National Palestinian Authority, Yaqoub Y. Alateeqi, the Ambassador of Kuwait, Manuel I. Hermida Medina, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, and Yoshinobu Higashi, the Ambassador of Japan. President Traian Basescu also received the accreditation letters of Philippe Blanchi, the Ambassador of Monaco. According to a Presidential communiqué, the Head of State’s talks with Ambassador Philippe Blanchi underlined the two states’ desire to develop bilateral relations and to apply the agreements agreed upon during the official visit that Prince Albert II paid to Romania in April 2009.
