Steaua vs. Motherwell, in Europa League, today

Today, Steaua Bucharest will play with the Scottish team Motherwell, in the third preliminary tour of the Europa League, on the Ghencea Stadium, starting at 20.45. The game will be aired by PRO TV.

“It is a highly important game for us, because it will precede our debut in the Championship and reflect our physical condition. The Scots are a difficult team, because their players are great runners. Indeed, my trainees have worked hard, they are really motivated, and I am positive that they will have an outstanding game on Thursday. I have no significant problems before this game, perhaps the short preparation time and the absences of certain players, yet a series of great solutions are at hand. I am not scared by the fact that Motherwell defeated Flamurtari by 8 -1, I trust that my team will manage to face them honourably during both games. Two young teams will confront one another, and we will see whether our youth is better than theirs,” Coach Cristiano Bergodi declared.

The Gendarmerie will treat the game vs. Motherwell as a maximum risk match, and therefore over 500 gendarmes will be assigned to guard the Stadium. The Steaua fans promised that they will behave decently.

1,400 Scots will travel to Romania and therefore, the South Lawn of the Ghencea Stadium will host the highest number of foreign fans reported in the last few years.
