Cornel Nistorescu takes over as ‘Cotidianul’ director

Journalist Cornel Nistorescu Saturday took over as director of the Cotidianul daily newspaper, which belongs to the Realitatea-Catavencu press group, Realitatea TV reports. Adrian Ursu – the paper’s editor-in-chief over the past year – was promoted to editorial director at Realitatea TV and will continue hosting the prime time programme on the said channel. Co-founder of the Express press trust after the 1989 Revolution, Cornel Nistorescu headed the eponymous magazine, and in 1997, became director of the ‘Evenimentul Zilei daily newspaper. Also, Nistorescu was among the founders of Romania’s first national privately-held radio stations, Europa FM, but also of local station Total FM. Cornel Nistorescu has been for the past few years among the leading freelancers at the Realitatea TV channel.
