FC Vaslui qualified for Europa League playoff, fans celebrated in the streets

FC Vaslui qualified for the Europa League playoff, which precedes the group stage, which precedes the group stage, after the draw away (1–1) on Tuesday evening, vs. Omonia Nicosia, in the return leg of the third preliminary tour. After a score of 2 – 0 achieved at Vaslui, Cristian Dulca’s team opened the score in the 60th minute, by Wesley’s free kick, and Omonia’s goal was scored by Maciej Zurawski, in the 84th minute, by a penalty kick. Both teams finished the game with ten players after Kuciak (Vaslui) and respectively Charalambous (Omonia) were eliminated.

Dozens FC Vaslui fans celebrated on Tuesday evening the qualification of their favourites to the Europa League playoff, after FC Vaslui managed to defeat the Cypriots of Omonia Nicosia with a total score of 3–1. Immediately after the final whistle of the return leg match in Cyprus, watched by many inhabitants of Vaslui on an advertising panel placed in the centre of their city, the members of the FC Vaslui gallery gathered to the Civic Square and yelled the name of their favourite team for dozens of minutes.

Cristian Dulca, the coach of the team FC Vaslui, declared after the qualification of his team in the Europa League playoff that he hoped to enter the group stage, as well.

“I am happy that we qualified and I hope that we would enter the group stage, although we are looking forward to a tougher challenge,” Cristi Dulca declared. “Perhaps the Cypriot fans could not accept easily that their favourite team was eliminated,” Cristi Dulca explained the tensioned final, as noticed both on the playground and in the stands.
