Transfiguration of Jesus, celebrated by Orthodox and Catholic Christians

The Orthodox and Catholic Christians are observing today one of the largest Christian feasts – the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor, the moment when His apostles realized that he is not just one of God’s prophets but also the true God.

Before that moment the disciples of Jesus had been amazed by His miracles, considered by them to be signs of His Godliness, but in their souls they still believed him to be only a man – a great Prophet – and the greatest messenger of God that walked among the people up to that time.
