Former ANT chief under investigation in Sabyc case

The former chief of the National Transplant Agency (ANT), Victor Zota was put under criminal investigation by prosecutors, under the charge of forging documents, Antena 3 reports. Zota is accused that he illegally accredited the Sabyc clinic, just three months after a control had found several problems at this medical facility. Zota’s wife too is being probed, as she is the chief of the Bucharest Transplant Agency. Victor Zota firmly rejected the accusations, which he described as “nonsense,” and explained the Health Ministry was the only institution entitled to accredit the Sabyc clinic. Zota led ANT for 12 years and had no problems with the law until now.
