Bomb alert in centre of Timisoara

An employee of the CFR traveling agency called yesterday the representatives of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) Banat, claiming he was called by a man who declared that two bombed cars were placed in the centre of Timisoara. The gendarmes evacuated the parking spaces and banned the access in the area.

“We were announced by a person working for the CFR traveling agency located in centre of the city that he received a phone call that warned him of the existence of two bombed cars,” the ISU Banat spokesperson, Alexandru Husaru declared.

According to the quoted source, the call was made by a child and not by a man, as believed initially.

The gendarmes discovered that it was a false alarm. According to the source, the person who misinformed the authorities may be fined no more than RON 500.
