Madonna concert: the final countdown

Madonna’s concert in Bucharest is just one day away and most of the pop star’s ‘Sticky & Sweet Tour’ staff has already arrived in the Romanian capital to put the finishing touches on the event, The grandest show the world has ever seen, the ‘Sticky & Sweet Tour’ mobilises an impressing amount of human and technological resources for the Bucharest concert: more than 1,200 people are working round the clock to arrange the area where Madonna’s fans in Romania can see their idol performing live for the first time ever in this country.

The Bucharest show consists of four episodes – ‘Pimp, ‘Old School’, ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Rave’ – each of which calls for Pop Diva Madonna and her dancers to do various garbs throughout the show. According to Emagic, the show’s organiser, Madonna asked for a fitness hall, a hydro-massage shower cabin and a gym hall to be installed on the premises of the Izvor Park where the concert will be held. Backstage, where Madonna will ‘take lodgings’ on the evening of the concert, her staff are directly in charge of arranging the rooms. Their only requirement referred to the ceiling of the cabins being draped in white silk. The pop diva is accompanied by a 34-strong personal staff including two fitness coaches, a therapy instructor, an interior designer and an Italian cook. The backstage area will also include a massage hall, a hydro massage shower cabin, gym hall and fitness equipment. Madonna’s staff will bring the interior design elements. A number of 500 chairs and tables will be set backstage, along with 30 couches and 500 roses, red and white. The last tickets remaining for the Madonna concert – Turf B (RON 120), Gold Bar (RON 600) and VIP (RON 800) -can only be purchased from the ticket booth at the entry to the Izvor Park, by the Izvor underground station. It is open today, noon through 9:00 pm, and tomorrow, on the day of the event, between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm.
