Oltchim Rm. Valcea women’s handball team has finished second in the Szabella Cup, a competition that took place in Debrecen. Oltchim won two games and lost one.
Defeated by Hypo Niederosterreich in the first day of the competition, score 30-27, Oltchim went on to defeat Hungary’s title holders Gyori Audo ETO KC, score 34-25 (22-10). In another game, Hypo defeated DVSC Aquaticum Debrecen, score 30-25 (17-10).
In its last game Oltchim defeated DVSC Aquaticum, score 39-33. In another game Gyori Audi ETO defeated Austria’s Hypo Niederosterreich, score 30-25 (11-11). While in the game against ETO Gyor head coach Radu Voina did not use players Adina Meirosu, Adriana Nechita, Patricia Vizitiu and Mihaela Smedescu, in the game against DVSC he did not use Steluta Luca, Rehina Simkute, Gabriella Szucs and Paula Ungureanu.
Hypo Niederosterreich won the tournament with 4 points, followed by Oltchim also with 4 points, DVSC Aquaticum with 2 points and Gyori Audi ETO KC with 2 points. Valentina Ardean Elisei won the prize for the most skilled player of the tournament.
