“Titanic Waltz” by the Nottara Theatre, to be performed in Munich

The theatre performance “Titanic Vals,” directed by Dinu Cernescu and produced by the Nottara Theatre in Bucharest will be performed in Munich on September 25, on the Romanian Cultural Days organized in the German city, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) quoted by Mediafax announced.

70 years after its official premiere in 1932, “Titanic Waltz” by Tudor Musatescu will be presented in director Dinu Cernescu’s brand new vision by the Nottara Theatre in Bucharest.

The director does not attempt a forced adaptation to these days, he prefers to explore the value of the text and the actors’ talent.

The cast includes Stefan Radof, Camelia Zorlescu, Ileana Stana Ionescu, Ruxandra Sireteanu, Crenguta Hariton, Andreea Macelaru, Raluca Gheorghiu, Cristian Sofron, Gabriela Crisu, Sorin Cocis, George Alexandru, Viorel Comanici, Claudiu Romila, Ion Siminie and Anda Caropol.

For Munich, the play will be translated and performed in German. The performance will take place in the Black Box Hall of the Cultural Centre of Munich, and approaches the mixed Romanian – German community, the Saxon and Schwab emigrants from Transylvania and Banat, other Romanians living in Germany and the German theatre audience. The event is organized by the Romanians Abroad Department of the Romanian Cultural Institute, in partnership with the Gesellschaft zur Forderung Rumanischer Kultur und Tradition in Munich Association.
