Classes to start on September 14

Minister of Education Ecaterina Andronescu and the unions from Education field found on Tuesday solutions for nine out of the ten days of unpaid holiday – by cutting some bonuses. They assured the pupils that they start classes on September 14. Education Minister proposed to eliminate the 2 per cent prize award bonus, the salary for merits and the bonus for rural environment, in order to save the expenditures incurred with the personnel of 15.5 per cent per month in September, October and November, the president of the Federation of the Free Unions from Education, Aurel Cornea, declared.

The unions from Education also said that they would like the politicians to not go to the festivities occasioned by the beginning of the school year. The representatives of the unions stressed that they also think to boycott the possible electoral actions of the political class at the festivities which accompany the opening of the school year.
