President to address Parliament on next Tuesday

The leaderships of the Parliament’s Chambers have decided on Monday that President Traian Basescu will deliver a speech in Parliament next Tuesday, September 15, Senate quaestor Ion Chelaru announced. Chelaru stated that no hour has been set because President Basescu’s schedule is not known. On the other hand, PD-L MP Sever Voinescu nevertheless stated that the President will deliver his message at 7 PM. ‘Considering that September 14 is an extremely important date for most of Romania’s population, in the sense that the school year is starting and that all politicians are participating to that event by conducting various activities, the Permanent Bureaus have decided to ask the President to attend the two Chambers’ joint session on September 15, with his speech set to be scheduled depending on his schedule,’ Chelaru said.

‘As I said before, the Parliament has a very busy schedule on September 15, but there’s always time for the President,’ Chelaru added.
