FM Diaconescu in China to enhance bilateral partnership

Minister Diaconescu is on a three day visit to China, on the occasion of the anniversary this year of 60 years of diplomatic bilateral relations. On this occasion, Mr. Diaconescu had meetings with his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi, with Liu Jieyi, deputy chief of the International Relations Department of CCP, and Zhao Jinjun, vice president of the Commission on foreign policy of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People. “We identified together with our interlocutors four levels which could underlie the future development of the bilateral economic and commercial relations: the development of the collaboration at SME level; the achievement of sectorial industrial partnerships; the close cooperation on local administrations for the identification of projects of mutual interest; the involvement in the projects and programmes promoted by the EU,” declared, according to a MAE press release, Cristian Diaconescu. The Chinese party greeted the steady stance of Romania to observe the principle of acknowledging one single China and of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the People’s Republic of China.
