PNL urged the dismissal of Minister Ecaterina Andronescu, yesterday, claiming she had broken the law by failing to publish the methodologies for the national examinations before the beginning of the new school year on September 1, as required by law. According to Mediafax, the Liberals say the PSD education minister positions herself above the law by disregarding her legal obligation to approve and publish national examinations’ methodologies before the beginning of the school year.
Moreover, PNL says that, unfortunately for both Minister Andronescu and PM Emil Boc, the emergency ordinance of the government stipulating that the Baccalaureate shall consist of three examinations ‘does not resolve the gross violation of the law and other applicable norms’. After the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime-Minister Emil Boc announced that pupils would sit three more exams during the school year.
PNL also notes that, at the meeting the Liberal group in the Parliament and the minister had on September 8, former Ministers Cristian Adomnitei and Anton Anton, like the rest of the PNL members present there, ‘warned the minister about the illegally she was committing’.
