Constantinescu launches Antonescu support committee

Wednesday night, ex-President Emil Constantinescu launched an appeal-declaration signed by 100 personalities of the Romanian society who had set up a support committee for the presidential candidate of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Crin Antonescu. According to the appeal-declaration of Antonescu’s 100 supporters, the liberal candidate meets ‘the closest profile to the requirements of a European president for Romania’. ‘He is a young person, yet he has political and administrative experience who has preserved his freedom from any form of bondage and who has devoted himself to politics in its elevated meaning of being in the service of the common good,’ reads the appeal-declaration made by Crin Antonescu’s support committee which includes a number of writers, film or theatre directors, composers, politicians, journalists and representatives of the civil society.
