President Traian Basescu and his wife, Maria Basescu, attended Sunday evening the reopening ceremony of the Savoy Hall of Bucharest’s ‘Constant Tanase’ Musical Theatre. The hall has been closed for the past six years for restoration and modernisation. ‘Bravo, you did a good job,’ Traian Basescu told the theatre’s director, Alexandru Arsinel, who delivered a thank-you speech to those who made the works possible and greeted the head of state and the Bucharest mayor, Sorin Oprescu, who attended the ceremony. The Savoy hall was inaugurated as part of the Bucharest Days event organised by the Bucharest City hall September 12 through 20.
