PNL calls for ministers’ dismissal over wage law

The National Liberal Party’s ex Education Minister Cristian Adomnitei and ex Labour Minister Mariana Campeanu asked President Traian Basescu not to promulgate the unitary salary law for which the government assumed responsibility in Parliament. The two Liberals also called for the dismissal of current Education Minister Ecaterina Andronescu and of Labour Minister Marian Sarbu, saying that the two changed the unitary salary law “with a pen” and reduced bonuses for teachers. The two charge that the unitary salary law for which the government assumed responsibility was different than the one initially made public by the executive. Adomnitei and Campeanu said they would ask the president to send the law back to the government.

Their comments came as on Saturday, PNL filed a complaint against the law with the Constitutional Court. Last week, the party filed a no-confidence vote over the same law, but their motion was rejected by MPs.
