One dead, three injured further to TIR and minibus collision

A bad accident took place yesterday morning in the county of Brasov. A minibus carrying passengers was hit by a long vehicle on the National Road 11.

A passenger from the minibus died and another three were injured. According to Mediafax, the minibus was going from Sinaia to Sfantu Gheorghe. Near Lunca Calnicului, the driver fell asleep and the minibus bumped into a long vehicle which circulated regularly. The people from the minibus were sleeping in the moment of the impact. We don’t know yet the cause of the accident which will be established further to subsequent investigations. The driver, tired, may have fallen asleep and the minibus entered the lane going into the opposite direction, or maybe his attention was distracted for a moment and he caused the accident,” chief commissioner Liviu Naghi, spokesman of IPJ Brasov, said. The driver of the long vehicle tried to avoid the impact but he could not. In exchange, he entered the yard of a house, hit a tree and then stopped against the wall of a house. Traffic on DN 11 was blocked for over two hours.

Another accident occurred also yesterday morning, on the European Road E 70, at the entry into Craiova. According to Mediafax, a person died and another three were badly injured, after the car in which they were entered the lane going into the opposite direction and bumped into signpost. Because of the accident, road traffic on the lane going to Craiova was heavy for half an hour.

On Sunday, a Romanian citizen died and another seven were injured in a road accident which occurred in East Hungary, close to the Romanian border.
