Patriarch Daniel – two years since his enthroning

The Romanian Orthodox Church celebrated on Wednesday two years since the enthroning of Patriarch Daniel, on this occasion representatives of the central and local authorities, scholars, clergy and believers being invited to the Patriarchal Palace, the Romanian Patriarchy informs. Patriarch Daniel performed the Holy Liturgy on Wednesday morning in the chapel of the Patriarchal residence, thanking God for the blessing of the Romanian Orthodox Church, of the Romanian people, of His Beatitude, reads the press release of the Patriarchy. The President of Romania Traian Basescu and other political leaders conveyed to BOR leader congratulations on the occasion of the anniversary. The Head of State also voiced his appreciation for the responsible presence of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the Romanian society which shows solidarity with it. The Head of State declared himself convinced about the importance of the promotion of the values that BOR represents in the spirit of the dialogue and the praising of otherness. His Beatitude Daniel was enthroned Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church on September 30, 2007.
