Paula Seling will be the special guest of Jessy Dixon, the gospel music legend that will give a concert in Bucharest’s Palatului Hall on Saturday, October 10.
‘Many years ago, back when my love for music started and when I did not dare dream making a career out of music, I could hardly have imagined that over the years God will give me the chance of opening the concert given in Bucharest by the legend of gospel music,’ Paula said. The tickets cost RON 45, RON 65, RON 90, RON 105 and RON 130 and were put for sale on the MyTicket.ro and TicketPoint.ro websites, within the Diverta store chain, the ‘Muzica’ store and at the Palatului Hall. Recognized all over the world for his unique, exuberant and dynamic style, Jessy Dixon was dubbed by the press and the critics ‘the king of gospel music,’ his contribution being remarkable as an interpreter, pianist and composer. He gave concerts in Europe more than any other American artist, managing to remove the barriers that separated black music from white music.
He composed some of the genre’s mainstay songs: ‘You Bring the Sun Out,’ ‘I Am Redeemed,’ ‘Jesus is Alive and Well,’ and ‘It’s Alright Now.’
The more than 20 albums that he recorded brought him seven Grammy nominations, five Gold Records and unanimous appreciations from the musicians with which he collaborated in his five decades of music career, the most resounding names including Paul Simon, Diana Ross, Albertina Walker, James Cleveland and Bill Gaither.
