The chief clubs of Romanian football confused

Dinamo disagrees with Bonetti, total war at Steaua.

Dinamo and Steaua, two of the Romanian football teams which obtained the most numerous awards, are going through an extremely agitated period.

The internal misunderstandings, the frequently changed coaches, the conflicts with the supporters, the weak results in the championship and the unconvincing evolutions in the international matches seem to not come to an end.

Coach Dario Bonetti, recently dismissed from Dinamo and also Cristiano Bergodi, dismissed last month from Steaua, have announced that they would complain to FIFA about the management of the two clubs and would even carry a negative campaign in Italy for the Romanian championships.

Bonetti had a new round of discussions at the beginning of this week with the president of FC Dinamo Executive Council, Nicolae Badea, but without result. “There are no professional reproaches. The situation was quite different, in the administrative domain and in the domain of the contractual relations. There were contractual clauses, how far can the discourse go, how profound it is and in what terms it can be achieved. Up to that point, there are some steps to make together with the administrative staff. We cannot skip some stages,” Badea said.

On another hand, the delegate manager of Dinamo spoke on “Fanatik Show” about two episodes which prove clearly the theory according to which Cristi Borcea, the executive president of the “dogs,” undermines the authority of the coaches obliging them to use certain players. “At Dinamo there are always interests about using one or another player. I remember that after the match won in 2008 with Steaua, Borcea called Talnar (coach at that time – editor’s note) and told him: <>. We were all astonished,” Dinu said, quoted by Hotynews.

In the meantime, the interim coach Ion Marin registered another failure in the championship and he will be soon replaced by Ioan Andone, who declared himself delighted with the offer, sources quoted by sport.ro say.

Besides all this chaos, a piece of news came like a bomb from UEFA: Dinamo may be excluded from the European competitions because it did not pay the fine for the incidents stirred by the fans at the match with Liberec played on its own field. The match Dinamo-Slovan Liberec, from the first round of Europa League playoff was stopped in minute 87, at the score of 2-0 for the guests, after around 50 white-red fans entered the field, unhappy with the evolution of their favourite team.

The situation is not better at Steaua. During the last championship match, Steaua supporters cursed non-stop the boss Gigi Becali, determining him to threaten them to cancel all the subscriptions sold by the club and even to prohibit the access of the supporters on the stadium. “It isn’t possible to curse like that. We shall make a selection of the supporters, they were filmed, and from now on we shall give other subscriptions, only to school pupils and students. We shall file a criminal complaint against those who contested me, because they insulted the private company that I manage,” Gigi Becali said.

In his turn, Valeriu Argaseala, president of the club, announced that he is thinking seriously to play the matches considered at home without supporters. “From now on, those who come to the match must submit also an ID. If we don’t find a solution to get rid of the hooligans, we shall close the gates of the stadium! Nobody forces us to play with spectators. Even if there are also collateral victims, namely the people who don’t insult us, we don’t want to know. In exceptional moments we must take exceptional decisions,” Valeriu Argaseala said, quoted by Hotnews.
