Bucharest Old Music Festival at the fourth edition

The Romanian Athenaeum and Dalles Art Galleries will host during October 17-23 the fourth edition of Bucharest Old Music Festival. The genres which preceded musical classicism will be represented in the festival through Baroque, Renaissance, Medieval, Byzantine, Gregorian music. The interpretation specific for this period of the old music will be made in an authentic way on historical instruments or on modern replicas of such instruments (clavichord, lute, harp, baroque violin, wind instruments).

On the posters of the fourth edition of the festival we find well-known names of the old music such as Hopkinson Smith (USA/Switzerland – lute, baroque guitar); the dancers Mary Collins and Steven Player (Great Britain); Petra Mullejans (Germany, baroque violin); Hannelore Devaere (Belgium, historical harps); Ketil Hausgand (Norway, clavichord); and “Floripari” formation (Poland). The festival will also host a master class of chamber music and improvisation given by Hopkinson Smith. The prices of the tickets at the concerts from the festival are between RON 20 and 45.

The access to concerts can also be possible through the acquisition of one of the two types of subscriptions – classic or for collectors. The tickets will be put for sale on September 28 and will be available in Carturesti book shops, Noi (Dalles) book shop, the network of Diverta, Germanos shops, and Vodafone on the sites www.eventim.ro and www.ticketpoint.ro.
