Murfatlar Romania, record-breaking production in 2009

Wine producer Murfatlar Romania has announced a record-breaking production of 30 million liters, up by 37 per cent compared to the level registered in 2008, a communiqué issued by the Murfatlar Vineyard informs.

Its wine production stood at 22 million liters in 2008, in contrast to 30 million liters of wine produced in 2009, of which 9 million liters of red wine and 21 million liters of white wine.

This is the second year in which Murfatlar reaps the benefits of rejuvenating its vineyard, a process that it started four years ago. Apart from its investments in the wine sector, 2009 is also the year that sees Murfatlar complete the process of enhancing its capacity to store and ferment wine at controlled temperatures in non-corroding reservoirs. When the EUR 2.2 M investment is completed the storage capacity will grow by 9.4 million liters to a total of 42.5 million liters.

Apart from these production-oriented investments Murfatlar also took care of the vineyard’s tourism activities by re-launching the Murfatlar Wine cellar Restaurant.
